Alan de la Roche (aka Alain de la Roche, Alanus de Rupe, which means “Alan of the Rock” in french and latin, respectively) is a canonized Saint. Please spread the word. I was informed of this by calling the church named after him in Troy, Michigan. The church is named St. Alan. It was dedicated by a cardinal in the 1960′s who confirmed to the parish that he is a canonized saint. His feast day is October 26th.
I would like a greater source for Alan may have been canonized in a local diocese at a time that was permitted but no longer and not necessarily by a Pope acting for the universal church. Can anyone find verification that Alan was canonized by the universal church or that a local canonization was accepted for the universal calander?
